PHINIA annually organize various events and "Tech Days" for customers and journalists.
Vienna, Austria. (April 22th, 2026) – PHINIA Inc. (NYSE: PHIN), a leader in premium fuel systems, electrical systems, and aftermarket solutions, will unveil new research at the 47th International Vienna Motor Symposium, highlighting the market readiness of its gaseous fuel technologies for high-performance, heavy-duty, and long‑range applications. Taking place April 22–24, 2026, the event will provide a platform for PHINIA to demonstrate how advanced injection, ignition, and combustion systems can enable lower‑carbon mobility using hydrogen, compressed natural gas (CNG), and ammonia.
PHINIA’s latest technical paper, “Future Gaseous Fuels: Latest Development in Injection, Ignition and Combustion,” will be presented to event attendees, showcasing significant progress in gaseous fuel injection and ignition systems.
The research shows that hydrogen, CNG, and ammonia can significantly reduce or eliminate CO₂ emissions and represent complementary solutions for a wide range of applications, depending on customer needs and regional market requirements.
Key findings include:
“Our latest research proves that gaseous fuels are not just theoretical; they are practically deployable today,” said Jean Luc Beduneau, Director of Innovation & Engineering Excellence at PHINIA. “With the right technologies, internal combustion engines can significantly reduce emissions while maintaining performance, supporting the transition to lower-carbon mobility across a wide range of on‑road and off‑highway applications.”
In Vienna, PHINIA will present its latest hydrogen internal combustion engine developments, highlighting how existing engine architectures can be adapted to operate efficiently on hydrogen while meeting stringent emissions requirements. These advances demonstrate the role of advanced combustion systems as a practical pathway to emissions reduction, particularly in applications where electrification alone may not meet duty‑cycle or range requirements.
“The transition to lower‑carbon mobility requires solutions that are innovative, scalable, and ready for real-world use,” said Todd Anderson, Chief Technology Officer at PHINIA. “Advanced combustion technologies, combined with alternative fuels such as hydrogen, offer a compelling and practical route to reducing emissions while preserving the performance and durability customers expect.”
The annual Vienna Motor Symposium brings together more than 1,000 automotive decision-makers to explore the latest powertrain and sustainable mobility innovations.
Visitors to the PHINIA stand at the Conference Centre, Hofburg Vienna, can explore the company’s full suite of solutions, including advanced ignition technologies and applications spanning light-duty, commercial vehicle, and industrial sectors.
At the booth, PHINIA will showcase its Alpine Hy6 hydrogen internal combustion engine for high-performance applications. Developed in partnership with Alpine’s Alpenglow hydrogen program, the car equipped with this Alpine Hy6 engine and fitted with PHINIA’s system has reached a high speed of 312.9 km/h.
PHINIA will also present on Thursday, April 23, at 3:30 PM CET in the Zeremoniensaal. For more information, visit the PHINIA booth or go to www.phinia.com
